Solution Overview
Core Value & Target Users
Refineries, chemical plants, LNG terminals, offshore platforms and gas processing facilities
Risk Control
ATEX/IECEx certified instruments prevent ignition in Zone 0/1/2 areas, eliminating the risk of electrical sparks triggering explosions in flammable gas environments.
Regulatory Compliance
ATEX and IECEx certified equipment ensures full compliance with international explosion-proof standards, avoiding costly shutdowns and regulatory penalties.
Operational Efficiency
Rugged instruments withstand harsh chemical environments, reducing equipment replacement frequency and lowering total cost of ownership.
System Architecture
Explosion-Proof System Topology
Three zones: Hazardous Area (Zone 0/1) → Interface (Zone 2) → Safe Area

Selection & Deployment
Selection Recommendations & Deployment Notes
Zone Determines Equipment
Zone 0 requires Ex ia (intrinsically safe Category 1). Zone 1 allows Ex ia, Ex ib, Ex d. Zone 2 allows Ex n (non-sparking). Never use lower-rated equipment in higher-risk zones.
Verify Certificates Before Use
Always verify ATEX/IECEx certificate numbers on the IECEx website before use. Counterfeit Ex equipment is a serious safety risk and regulatory violation.
Calibrate Gas Detectors Regularly
Portable gas detectors must be bump-tested before each use and fully calibrated at least every 6 months. Sensor drift is the leading cause of false negatives.
Non-Sparking Tools are Mandatory
Standard steel tools can generate sparks when struck. In Zone 1/2 areas, use beryllium copper or aluminum bronze non-sparking tools for all mechanical work.
