Instrument Recommendation

📐 Key Formulas
  • Single-phase: S = V × I
  • Three-phase: S = √3 × V × I
  • Active Power: P = S × pf
  • Reactive Power: Q = √(S²−P²)
  • Impedance: Z = V / I (single) or V / (√3 × I) (three)
⚠️ Assumptions
  • Voltage is line-to-neutral for single-phase, line-to-line for three-phase
  • Balanced three-phase system assumed
  • Sinusoidal waveform (no harmonics)
  • Default power factor = 1.0 if not specified
🔌 CAT Rating Guide
  • CAT II: Household / single-phase ≤300V
  • CAT III: Industrial / three-phase ≤600V
  • CAT IV: Utility / outdoor ≥1000V
